6th Grade-8th Grade

Our Cross Training program spends time together learning about our faith, having fun, and serving together. We start each night with a meal that our families contribute to, then we spend time in worship together, hear a message, and have time and discussion in our small groups. Our goal is for youth to grow in their relationships with God and one another to help build a firm foundation of faith.

Cross Training meets on Wednesday nights throughout the school year.

What to Expect

We are still figuring out how the night will look this fall. We are still planning to have worship, a message, and small group time. Students are asked to arrive by 6pm and programming will last until 7:45pm
NEW THIS YEAR: We are offering an online option for those who are unable or uncomfortable attending in person. Please be sure to select this option when registering.
Small Groups are created by grade and gender. The same Small Group Adult Leaders are present with these kids through all three years of their Cross Training experience. This nourishes relationship and trust.

Cross Training Curriculum

We run a three year rotation model with a final fourth year of Alpha (click to learn more). Students are welcome to join in at any point during the school year. If your child is joining us at a later time, we will help him/her get caught up.
Old Testament Year – This year reminds students how God worked and was faithful in the Old Testament. The students will meet characters such as Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Joseph, etc. and how their faith lives still impact and inspire our own.
New Testament Year – This year connects students to the powerful message and life of Jesus Christ as we learn together about the miracles He performed, the faith community He led, and dig into His death on the cross and what it means for us.
Ten Commandments, Apostle’s Creed, & The Lord’s Prayer Year – This year digs deeper into foundation doctrines, lessons, and prayers of the Christian faith and why they are still important today.

Serving Requirements

All Cross Training students are required to participate in a serving team at Resurrection. Youth are encouraged to serve on Sunday mornings throughout the year. They can sign up with their families or friends to serve as Faithful Servants or with our kids’ program, Pathfinders, in their Fun Zones. Serving fulfills the “OUT” of their Faith Triangle.

Youth Worship Team

Students who like to sing or play an instrument are encouraged to be a part of the Youth Worship Team. This teams leads worship on Wednesday nights. Please speak with our Youth Ministry Associate about joining the Youth Worship Team.
